January BAAA Member Meeting

January's BAAA Member Meeting will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 9:30 am, at the Bon Air Christian Church at 2071 Buford Road in North Chesterfield. Our speaker will be Dr. Leo G. Mazow, Cochrane Curator and Head of the Department of American Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art. Dr. Mazow specializes in nineteenth- and twentieth-century American art and cultural history. He has published on the artists George Inness, Thomas Hart Benton, and Edward Hopper, as well as on various aspects of the intersection of sonic and visual culture. He curated the exhibition Edward Hopper and the American Hotel (2019-20). His program talk will be on his current project, Storied Strings: The Guitar in American Art (2022-23).
