The BAAA February meeting will be held tomorrow, Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Bon Air Christian Church, 2071 Buford Road, North Chesterfield, 23235, beginning at 9:30 AM. Dr. Theresa A. Cunningham, Assistant Curator of European Art and the Mellon Collections at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will be the featured speaker. Before joining VMFA in 2023, she was Assistant Curator at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee; Margaret R. Mainwaring Curatorial Fellow in the Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art; and Graduate Curatorial Assistant at the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State. A specialist in nineteenth century French art, her writing has appeared in Print Quarterly, the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians, and Nineteenth Century Art Worldwide. She will be talking about the upcoming show she curated titled, "Experimental Lines: Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Drawings from the Mellon Collection". This exhibit includes several watercolor paintings not often on display. Come and enjoy a special program.
